Well it's as simple as that. Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo? Here are some facts to help the discussion.

Eighth Generation Consoles:
Microsoft recently announced the Xbox 360 S, while Sony has announced the new PS3 CECH-2000. Nintendo announced no new console, only the new Nintendo 3-DS.

Sales:

70.93 million copies of the Wii have been sold, 40.2 million copies of the Xbox 360 have been sold, and 37.5 million copies of the PS3 have been sold.

Defects:

"In the September 2009 issue of Game Informer magazine, survey results were published in which among nearly 5000 readers who responded, 54.2% of those who owned an Xbox 360 had experienced a console failure for that system, compared with 10.6% for PlayStation 3, and 6.8% for Wii."

Titles:

Xbox 360 has Halo, Gears of War, Half Life 2, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, and Grand Theft Auto IV.

Playstation 3 has Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, and Grand Theft Auto IV.

Wii has Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. 

Well this is only a matter of opinions,i have all of them but i play the PS3 more since i had (and i still have) the PS2 as my first console and because it has the games that i'm attracted to,everyone that has all 3 will have his favorite,everyone should get what measures they're expectations 

In all honesty, a similar priced game system all with comparable games BUT the PS3 has a BluRay player.  

PS3 wins just from that.   That and it's black.  I'm not about to bad mouth a black gaming system.  That's just crazy.

Oh and, you phucking phail for not mentioning the PS3's greatest game ever.  God Of War 3.  Ever heard of it?

I had the wii back when it first came out. I liked the whole concept with the controller, but there were no games for someone like me, only games for little kids. Especially nba live 08, that game was horrible on the wii. I traded the wii in and got a 360 because it is cheaper then the ps3. If I could chose, I would choose the ps3 ( if i had the money) but you forgot Star ocean, the last hope as one of the exclusive games for the xbox 360. It's better then listing the same games that came out for the 360 and ps3. Also I heard that when the ps3 first came out, it cost about the same as a blue ray player at the time, so common sense says that is the best bang for your buck, and that is coming from someone who has a 360.

I think that set ps3 ahead of the curve, microsoft made you pay extra cash for an hd-dvd attatchment for the xbox (something like $179) and of course hd-dvds never lasted, so they really shouldnt even advertise that product.

I personally have to go with ps3 simply because of the fact its compatable with the logitech g25. Made racing all the more fun for me

I dont want to be miss factisious and all but, In my opinion ranking in for number 1 has to be microsoft for the great graphics in some of the games and of course me being a fangirl for the fable games, ranking in number 2 is sony only because they also have great graphics but the system isnt really me... and last but not... yeah it is really least but, Nintendo... Wii was really shit(shit in a bad way) and  the nintendo ds and dsi systems tried to recreate the classic games but they got rid of all of the really good requirements, like in mario 64 they had a great ending... but it was ruined by yoshi not being on top of the castle and giving you 99 lives.... that was bullshit...

The PS3 came out a week within the Wii, so no...

Also I made a mistake while reading Wikipedia, you're right, I got the systems wrong for Sony. But from all I know, there is no replacing system for the PS3 yet.

True enough, but I wasn't aiming for ALL the titles up there, just the most famous. God Of War escaped my mind.

I say Nintendo because I play a shit load of pokemon, and its the system where all my games are.

Plus I grew up on Gameboy and N64!

I used to be a big gamer but not so much anymore. It's the same shit churned out over and over, and I've grown tired of it. The prices for the games are ridiculous too. Games should be $10 max. Nintendo is the biggest disappointment for me. They changed from a games company into a 'dumbass kiddy minigame with shit graphics churned out just for easy cash' company. Now I'm not a graphics whore but deliberately chosing a system that can't compete graphics wise with it's competitors is just wrong. I know they're winning the console war and are making obscene amounts of cash, but thats exactly my point. They're in it for the money only, not for making awesome games or progressing games. Another point is that not only is their console crippled graphics wise but it also doesn't have the processing power to give you innovation in any other department either. It can't give you better physics, AI, or anything else. What Nintendo have done is market shitty mini games to non gamers and totally screwed their original customer base of real gamers who wanted the awesome innovation they falsely promised. The one and only reason I'd ever consider buying a Wii is for the new Mario bros side scrolling platformer, because I liked the 2D platform game genre and Mario became shit when he went 3D.

Minigame collections Nintendo has released on the Wii: WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Wii Fit, Mario Party 8, Wii Play.

You know what's funny? The amount of core games Nintendo released for the Wii hasn't decreased since the Gamecube, they have pretty much the same amount. In addition, Super Mario being shit in 3D is only your opinion. I can see that Nintendo put a lot of effort into their games. I find it rather obscure that you call them a "kiddy game company" since they have never been about "mature games". Nintendo's games are family friendly and can be enjoyed by persons of any age. This was proven to me when my cousin came for a visit. He usually only plays games like COD but he enjoyed Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy  and New Super Mario Bros. Wii a lot.

Of course Nintendo is in for the money, after all they are a business, but you can clearly see that they still care about the games. I know you don't like Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 but you have to admit they are pretty groundbreaking games.

I like Xbox 360 more because when I had tried out the PS3 for a few months, barely anyone talked over the microphone compared to when I'm playing on the 360.

@Harry You make some valid points defending Nintendo. I used to be a Nintendo fanboi when I was a kid and grew out of it thankfully (which reminds me, someone bitchslap TheArchfiend for being a Sega fanboi, fucking Sega pffff... lol). Yes, Nintendo is a family oriented company and always has been, which I like. Yes, they put some effort into their games, no denying that. However the core of my arguement still stands. The Wii did not bring the amazing revolution in gaming Nintendo promised. Their core lineup has been the same for over a decade now, 20 years even. Their games have gained little from the translation to 3D, infact Mario and Metroid lost alot, and their games progress little with each new version. Their family oriented policy prevents mature games being developed and published on their platforms. Even worse, their own emphasis has shifted from being family oriented to 5 year old kid oriented. Mario used to be an Italian plumber, now hes a sad little characture of a man with the most annoying squeeky gay voice ever. Nintendo promotes the Wii mostly based on the silly mini games that don't interest real gamers. I rarely see the Wii promoted based on the Nintendo core game lineup. Yes it's great that everyone can join in, and the controller is easy for anyone to use, but that type of mindless kiddy game and gimmicky controller don't interest me. Nintendo is a very clever company that knows how to squeeze money out of its fanbase, and figured out how to get more money from a new non-gamer customer base they attracted with the kiddy Wii. As for Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 I can't comment having never tried them. I've seen them being played and I can't see the groundbreaking innovation you speak of. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are out to make as much cash as possible and while they might profess to loving games and being all for innovation that is just marketing BS. Perfect example is the new Nintendo 3DS. It's almost the same as the old DS except the top screen now has a psuedo 3D image effect. Now Nintendo can roll out all of their core lineup again which will be identicle to the old versions but now with this amazingly useless and totally cosmetic psuedo 3D effect. Cha-ching money in the bank for Nintendo while they claim they're being oh so innovative and progressing gaming as we know it.
